All:
I've been messing with DVMRP tunnels and Cisco IOS
12.0.(7)T, which recently came out with MBGP and
MSDP support.
For me, this version has proven to fix a few things, and
break a few things, but overall stable with regards to
MBGP and MSDP peering, except for the lack of
MBGP help commands.
When I upgraded, a new method of doing multicast
NLRI was introduced (without warning or docs as
far as I can see) called the 'address family', which is
a subsection to the BGP section.
Before the upgrade, I was doing MBGP -> DVMRP
route redistribution, and now I can't seem to find where
in the config I would turn this on! It used to be:
ip dvmrp metric 1 mbgp
but now that doesn't seem to exist.
I discovered this while using the latest mrouted across
a tunnel (3.9b3). The Solaris box I'm using can generate
SDR announcements fine to the rest of the world, I just
couldn't seem to get any SDR sessions in to the UNIX box.
This is when I discovered the lack of the MBGP to DVMRP
redistribution in the Cisco IOS. I noticed a Bug on the Cisco
Bug Toolkit: CSCdk25282. I don't know if this relates or not,
but I think that I would still have to redistribute from MBGP
to DVMRP.
Maybe this feature isn't included in this version of IOS...
Any ideas?
