I'll just add that the IP Multicast Initiative has run several multicast
interoperability events. However, these are "engineers only" and they have
not been overly publicized. We agree to refrain from discussing results.

PIM has been an issue because of both lack of implementation and reluctance
by some companies to test in an open environment....even if it is
restricted to engineers. However we hope that we can do some multi-vendor
testing over the next 6 months or so.

Instead, we've focused on instigating the progression of commercial
inter-domain multicast networks. As a part of the IP Multicast Summit we
are running a "Splash" project which is designed to do just that.
Interoperability and peering are key factors in the project.

We'd also like to work more closely with UOMIL!!
