Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum

This session will focus on Franklin Roosevelt's creation of the Presidential Library System. The Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum is the nation's first Presidential Library and the only one used by the President while they were actually still in office. It has become the model for the creation of the country's other 14 Presidential Libraries, which house the papers of each presidential Administration and which comprise the President Library System, part of the National Archives and Records Administration. Examples of the kinds of documents, objects and photographs likely to be found in the Roosevelt collection will be featured.

** The Presidential Primary Sources Project is presented by Internet2 in collaboration with the National Park Service and Presidential Libraries and Museums. This free program connects K12 students across the country with park rangers and educators for live interactive distance learning programs via the BlueJeans cloud-based video platform.
