- Review of Previous Action Items
- status of several items was sent with the email reminder for this call
- Steve updated group on his progress with Phoebus
- testing done between UW-La Crosse and Sunnyvale server
- path involves WiscNet, I2/Phoebus, Cenic
- able to test on Mac OS X by using parts of simple wrapper code
- integrated into Mac client of tcp based visualization app
- Micah/Terry talk about REDDnet
- experimenting with Phoebus for transfer between storage appliances
- would like to see more Phoebus depots to enhance transport paths
- Discussion of current Phoebus deployment
- existing nodes fell under observatory work
- currently in NY, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles
- to complete would need DC, Atlanta, Kansas City, Salt Lake, Seattle
- discussion of hardware requirements and costs
- Discussion of drafting recommendation to complete the Phoebus deployment
- recommendation will consist of use cases, costs for 1G (incremental costs
for 10G), and functional requirements for this level of deployment
- Steve will put together description of application, performance results, movies
- Micah will put together similar information for REDDnet
- minimal functional requirements: tooling for experimenter, is depot live?, is
path usable?, routine NOC monitoring, mechanism for users to report
problems
- prepare draft of recommendation, use cases and minimal functional
requirements for the next call
