Transport protocols and bulk file transfer

All,

I met with Steve and Chet, the WG chairs, at Spring Member Meeting for a 
brief administrative lunch to determine if the group should become 
active, again, or if they felt the work in the charter was complete. As 
the tool developed to meet the design document, VFER, did not meet their 
application needs, they agreed the group  should consider other options, 
within and without the scope of the design document.

In particular, they are interested in doing some experiments with 
Phoebus and considering revisiting the design document, entirely. In 
support of this, I've created a Doodle Poll (vote at: 
http://www.doodle.ch/qg48xzgtt2eddwk8) to select a day/time for regular, 
monthly meetings. Once we have sufficient agreement on a day/time, I 
will setup a dial in and send around reminders.
