Transport protocols and bulk file transfer

While at Haystack, David Lapsley had implemented e-VLBI with UDT on 2
separate occasions.  The environment was an off the shelf desktop, running a 
linux distribution (Redhat ES3).

The first attempt was using the initial release of the UDT software and 
resulted in some success.
Problems occurred with the application locking up on occasion.  The results 
were relayed to Gu
and company.

The second attempt was in October of 2004 with UDT version 2.0 and e-VLBi was 
unable
to get this version working.  

David left shortly after that and work on using UDT has stopped until now. We 
are resurrecting the work that David started and will determine the state of 
the software shortly.
