Our results counted the number of hits on email address. LDAP is not quite
relational, so it counts entries rather than "rows" like a SQL database would
count.
We also take into account privacy flags on email address and telephone
number.
We can't count an entry if we aren't allowed to see the email addr or
telephone
number.
