I was trying to sign a SAML2 metadata file (partly to test the signature verification in the 2.0 SP & IDP, and partly because that signing process will eventually become a part of the federation’s SOP).  I remember a discussion at one point about a metadata toolset that would come with the Shib 2 release.  I poked around, but I can’t seem to find what I am looking for.  I also tried using the metadata signing tool from Shib 1.3, but we are using some metadata elements that it has trouble with (I’m not sure if it’s possible for me to dig into the schemas from the Shib 1.3 release and update them, but that seems like a bad idea just for the purposes of signing). 

 

Any tips, pointers, or links would be appreciated.
