Hi,
Is the new SessionInitiator functionality of the SP documented anywhere yet? If not - do I understand correctly that this should allow runtime determination (via lazy sessions, etc) of which WAYF or direct IdP the user goes off to to establish their session? Could someone supply a quick usage example (query parameter string, e tc)? Between the shibboleth.xml embedded comments and looking at the code, I don't think I understand exactly how it's supposed to work.
Where the comments say:
Automatic session setup will use the default or first
element (or requestSessionWith can specify a specific id to use). Lazy sessions
can be started with any initiator.
How does one explicitly invoke a specific initiator (other than the default), for example with a lazy session? requestSessionWith? If so, how, where? That's a URL query parameter? Does it make a difference whether sessions are lazy or not? I tried playing around with it, but I keep getting an error that I need a wayfURL property (which I have), so I'm obviously doing something wrong...
Finally, what is the purpose/meaning of the SessionInitiator Location attribute? That's not obvious to me.
Like I said, if this is documented somewhere, just point me there. I looked in the deploy guide and the wiki, but maybe I'm just missing it.
Thanks,
Brent
