I'm trying to develop a list of packages (and versions) that we would 
like to see installed on the machines that I2 will  be 
providing...... comments eagerly awaited......

Java SDK 1.3.1
Apache 1.3.22
mod_ssl and OpenSSL (whatever's recent)
Tomcat 3.3
gcc 2.95.3
g++ (whatever's recent)

openldap?

mysql ?

a specific perl?

specific db libraries?

anything else?

sometime between now and General Availability (June, 02), we're 
probably going  to have to worry about the new jdk (1.4)
