Hi, perfSONAR support team, I'm Heberth from the Global Computing Lab of UTK, currently, We're trying to install perfSONAR maddash to generate measurements (latency, throughput, traceroute, and RTT) between VMs deployed on different academic clouds. At this time, we have 4 Vms:
  1. CloudLab Utah
  2. CloudLab Wisconsin
  3. Jetstream2 Indiana
  4. ChameleonCloud TACC
Notes:
  • Each VM uses ubuntu 18.04 as the operating system
  • We have access to each machine with public IP but in the case of chameleon and jetstream, there are floating IPs (for that reason the public Ip is not reported on the network interface list).
  • I installed the maddash server on cloud lab Utah and we are using the perfsonar pscheduler agent on each VM to read the remote configuration file and create the tasks
  • We reviewed the firewall configuration of each VM and allow send and receive data from the ports relates to perfsonar maddash following the documentation

Scenario:
When we installed MadDash, we got some errors with the grid, and it has been impossible to read throughput and latency information from jetstream and chameleon, I think the problem is related to the private IP, and for that reason, I tried to implement remote-addresses configuration to set the private Ip but still not working, In our use case we don't have an additional VM connected by a private network, we have a scenario with public and private networks.

I tried to run the tests directly on each VM. In this case, the command used was:

pscheduler task --archive '{"archiver": "esmond","data":{"url":"https://ms1143.utah.cloudlab.us/esmond/perfsonar/archive/","measurement-agent":"128.110.217.203"}}' throughput --source 128.110.217.203 --dest 149.165.168.196 --source-node 128.110.217.203

And I got the following error:

As an attachment, I sent you a diagram with the scenario information and the template.json I'm using to create the tasks.

I hope your team could help us with this implementation, please let me know if you need more information or if we could schedule a meeting to present you with the scenario and the problems that I'm having
