perfSONAR User Q&A and Other Discussion

Hello all, thank you for having me,

 

I recently came across this project looking into an old presentation from EPOC - Engagement Performance Operations Center and not going into detail started looking into perfsonar-tools, mainly twamp-server.

 

We have a commercial solution, Accedian, and for some testing purposes in some cases use https://github.com/nokia/twampy as a pure light reflector.

 

For testing and “disambiguation” of some testing scenarios there came a need of another host bases solution, and here we arrive.

 

Using Accedian solutions as client, TWAMP Control negotiates the testing port, Controller starts sending traffic to this port, reaches the server, and then nothing happens. No reply.

 

How to troubleshoot this ?

 

From local5 log facility for a restart of the deamon:

 

# tail -f local5.log                 

Aug  6 17:01:51 experience01 twampd[25230]: FILE=owampd.c, LINE=1937, twampd: exiting...

Aug  6 17:01:51 experience01 twampd[27325]: FILE=endpoint.c, LINE=3066, run_reflector: Exiting due to error

Aug  6 17:01:51 experience01 twampd[25230]: FILE=owampd.c, LINE=1984, twampd: exited.

Aug  6 17:01:51 experience01 twampd[31608]: FILE=time.c, LINE=118, NTP: STA_NANO should be set. Make sure ntpd is running, and your NTP configuration is good.

 

NTP is running but from chrony.

 

Nothing more gets logged.
