Hi Michael,
Based on your description, I am guessing you did not originally setup those hosts through the Toolkit UI and that they come from a remote mesh file. Prior to 4.1 you could see these tests in the UI, but starting in 4.1 they do not appear. You can find this buried in the release notes for 4.1 with more detail: https://www.perfsonar.net/releasenotes-2018-08-15-4-1.html#known-issues. This is a known change in behavior. Let us know if you think something else is happening, but it sounds like this is what you are observing.
Thanks,
Andy

That file exists, but it is empty. I looked at the tarball that was the backup from the old system and it does not contain a file by that name. Should it have been included in the backup?
I will note that this host is not part of a mesh, all tests were defined manually by me from the GUI.
Can I just grab that file from the old host and manually copy it over? Or given the fact that the tests are somewhere in the system because they are running, can I regenerate the file?
The old hardware is powered off and unplugged from the network, but I'm planning on going to the data center tomorrow for other work so I should be able to access it then.
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Michael,
Please check this file: /var/lib/perfsonar/toolkit/gui-tasks.conf
Please create a backup copy of it.
Your configuration (the one you expect to find) should be present there.
When you recognise them look for rows with: " added_by_mesh 1" in the test specification of your interest.
Depending on whether this host is part of a remote managed mesh, it may have more test statements along with yours. Changing the wrong statements, might duplicate the tests.
After you save the changes, the configuration should be back in the gui.... You may have to reboot in the end, but I doubt.
Please preserve the backup.

Ivan Garnizov

Betreff: [perfsonar-user] No tests on configuration page after migration
Last week I migrated one of our PerfSonar hosts(configuration and data) to new hardware. I used the instructions from this page: https://docs.perfsonar.net/install_migrate_centos7.html
Both hosts are/were running CentOS 7, but the page says that is fine. I also kept the same IP address so that didn't change. From the dashboard I can see that all the tests migrated perfectly. They are all listed, have historical data, and new tests are running. The only thing that I see missing is if I go to the Configuration page and click on the Tests tab there are no tests or hosts listed.
Any ideas on why they aren't showing up there even though they do appear to be running?
Thanks,
Mike Robbert
