Hi George,

The command does more checking that it used to do. It will now reach out to pscheduler and validate the test specs, context specs and archiver specs. It looks to me like it got some funny results back when it reached out to pscheduler on the local machine. If the local machine does not have pscheduler it should be skipping that step - and confirmed it does just now for me even in cases with a web server but no pscheduler. Is pscheduler on the box where you are running the “psconfig validate" command? If not, is there a web server and does it return something other than a 404 when you try to go to “https://localhost/pscheduler”?

Thanks,
Andy

Hi,

After my servers were upgraded to pS 4.2.0 I’ve begun receiving the following message while validating json templates.  This message wasn’t displayed in pervious pS releases.  It’s probably innocuous but implies an error.

Thanks,

George

# psconfig validate international.json

Loading template ...... OK

Validating JSON schema ...... OK

Verifying object references ...... OK

malformed JSON string, neither tag, array, object, number, string or atom, at character offset 0 (before "<html><head><title>R...") at /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl/JSON.pm line 171.

All,

The next major version of perfSONAR 4.2.0 is now available. This is a final release that has been uploaded to our production package repositories. That means if you are running auto-updates on a supported operating system, you will automatically get this version in the next couple days (as mirrors update). Changes in this version include:

- A new pScheduler disk-to-disk test with support for a GridFTP and curl tool

- pSConfig Web Administrator (PWA) RPMS

- Support for perfSONAR Ansible roles

- Support for task priorities in pScheduler

- End of BWCTL backward compatibility support in pScheduler

Full release notes can be found here: https://www.perfsonar.net/release-notes/version-4-2-0/

Information on getting the latest version of the software can be found here: http://docs.perfsonar.net/install_getting.html

Thank you to everyone that helped test, reported bugs and contributed patches. As always, please let us know if you have any issues.

Thank you,

The perfSONAR Development Team
