Hi,

After you repack the iso, try running the command "isohybrid ISO" where ISO is the path to your ISO file. If that command is not found, do a "yum install syslinux" which is the package with that command. It is what does the magic to make an ISO bootable to both optical and USB media. We run that after we build the Toolkit ISOs, its possible it needs to be run again after a re-pack.

Thanks,
Andy

Hi all,

I plan to migrate our current CentOS6.x perfsonar boxes to modern age (with CentOS7). When I installed those boxes a few years ago, I extracted the perfsonar install media and modify the kickstart file and repack them back into a ISO file, wrote it to a USB key. I was able to use my modified ISO file  for perfsonar installation to a bunch servers (with the same configuration).

I tried the same recipe, I failed to make the USB bootable. I must need to modify a few steps somewhere.  I would love to hear it from the package maintainer or someone who has successfully done this exercise.

I extracted all files from the following iso file:

pS-Toolkit-4.1-CentOS7-FullInstall-x86_64-2018Aug13.iso

I can see two ks.cfg files, one in the top directory and one in the isolinux directory (and one buried in the initrd.img as well).

Which ks.cfg file I need to modify?  What is the exact command line to repack into a new ISO file (using mkisofs)?

Thank you very much for your help!
