I seem to remember that pscheduler was going to have a more holistic view of the testing going on on a machine, and that doing latency and bandwidth testing on a single machine/NIC would no longer be the taboo that it once was in 3.x.  Did I dream that, or is that now safe to do?

I ask because I came across the note on this page that still warns against it.

An issue we have run into is that the perfsonar-configure_nic_parameters init
script would disable interrupt coalescing on an interface when latency tests are
enabled.   With the Intel 10Gbit NIC's, we had problems getting throughput rates
up to 10Gbps with it disabled.   Looking at the current version of the script, it
looks like it now always disables interrupt coalescing by default.    We just disabled
the init script when configuring our boxes and let the system use the default settings.
I haven't done any recent testing to check if this is still an issue on current generation
CPU's.
