That particular testing was also used for a DTN use case - there is no requirement to use multiple processors.  In fact users at other facilities have gone a different route and went for the fastest single processor setup (usually a PC/Gaming setup, for example: Intel Core i7-6700K 8M 4.0 GHz LGA 1151 BX80662I76700K Desktop Processor)

The usual rules still apply:

    - single stream of TCP will bind to a single core.  Fastest clock rate you can implies faster stream of TCP
    - fastest (pci-3, etc.) interconnection for daughter card
    - ample memory
