Have you run “systemctl restart cassandra”? That should bring it back since it just sounds like it stopped running. If it does not come back, do you have a stale java process (ps auxw | grep java)? or is there anything in the cassandra logs of note?

Hi Syzmon,

I have updated my toolkit a number of times. I've also checked for newer repositories, but a quick "rpm -qa | grep rc3" tells me that everything is apparently up to date. My systemctl shows cassandra.service as active (exited), and I assume I want cassandra to be active (running) so it can do database things.

Thanks for the heads up,
-Daniel

Hey, I just installed the perfsonar 4.0 release candidate ISO for centos 7, and I've been running into some trouble with Cassandra and Esmond. I searched around and made some changes, most notably from this exchange: http://perfsonar-user.internet2.narkive.com/NH9FTXDl/perfsonar-4-0-rc2-cassandra-logs-have-fatal-errors

Hi Daniel,

Did you update the toolkit after installation? ISO is a bit old and there have been many changes since that time which may fix some odd behaviour.

Best regards,
