Have you looked at captcp? I've used that in the past for visualization of pcaps.http://research.protocollabs.com/captcp/

For what it’s worth, once perfSONAR 4.0 has hit the streets, it will become easier to add additional tools.  Any of these could become part of the ecosystem with relatively little effort.
