hi,

looks like my NW diagram got spaces removed.  should be:

|                                                   /----wireless----\
|             /----eth0----- test box1                                 test box 2 ---eth0 -----\
|            /                                                                                                       \
|owping                                                                                                         owampd
|            \                                                                                                       /
|              \-----eth1--------------common LAN--------------------------eth1     ----/

i tried -S, it moves both data and control.  i want to separate data and control if possible. control over the eth1 interfaces and data over the eth0 interfaces

Hi,

I am not sure that teh feature you are looking for is currently supported. Have you tried the -S <address> option? I don’t recall if that just changes control packets or both control and data. That’s really your only bet to do it via the command-line since its the only option owping provides for setting the source.

Thanks,
Andy

Hi All,

I am struggling to get dual interface control and data flows separated. I
have the following set up:

/----wireless----\
/----eth0----- test box1 test box 2 ---eth0
-----\
/
\
owping
owampd
\
/
\-----eth1----------common LAN--------------------------eth1
----/

I have two interfaces on each of the client and server. I would like the
control to go over the common LAN interface and the test packets to go over
teh interfaces with the test box(eth0s)

I have tried /opt/bin/owping -AO -c10 -t -s242 -i0.3 -R -L0.4 10.1.3.1:5202
192.168.1.203:8765 and can see that the data and control packets are both
going out the common LAN path.

I would like the control packets to go over the common LAN and the test data
to go over the testboxes path.

I have tried many of variation of owping and owampd set up but can not seem to
get it working on different paths.

any suggestions?

thanks,
