Greetings,

Regarding to the web interface image attached, the services bwctl etc are not running.

I looked into the configdaemon.log, see these messages:
2016/05/12 11:39:21 (3417) ERROR> ConfigDaemon.pm:243 perfSONAR_PS::NPToolkit::ConfigManager::ConfigDaemon::startService - Enabling bwctl in startup

2016/05/12 12:50:33 (3417) ERROR> ConfigDaemon.pm:243 perfSONAR_PS::NPToolkit::ConfigManager::ConfigDaemon::startService - Enabling yum_cron in startup
I tried to enable services by commands:

[root@r1prpps01 ~]# chkconfig bwctl on

error reading information on service bwctl: No such file or directory

[root@r1prpps01 ~]# chkconfig bwctl-server on

[root@r1prpps01 ~]# chkconfig owamp-server on

[root@r1prpps01 ~]# chkconfig ndt on

[root@r1prpps01 ~]# chkconfig yum_cron on

error reading information on service yum_cron: No such file or directory

[root@r1prpps01 ~]# chkconfig npad on

error reading information on service npad: No such file or directory

I still see the same result shown on the attached web interface image.
Does anyone have suggestion?

Thanks,
Rong

Subject: Re: [perfsonar-user] service bwctl vs service bwctl-server?

Greetings, Dan,

Thank you for your reply.

I am sure service bwctl-server is running;

[root@r1prpps01 ~]# service bwctl-server status

bwctl-server (pid 3819) running

However, why in the web interface as shown in the following image, it indicates that bwctl is not running?

Do I miss anything else? Thank you very much for your reply.

bwctl is the command line interface to the bwctl-server daemon process. You only need to service start bwctl-server. After that is running you or others can use bwctl to initiate tests between machines.

Greetings, perfSONAR user support,

Could anyone please tell me what’s difference between these two services?

Why I have service bwctl-server but not bwctl?

  $ service bwctl status
bwctl: unrecognized service
 $  service httpd status
httpd (pid  4317) is running…

I much appreciate your kind reply,

Subject: perfSonar installation trouble shooting

Dear perfsonar user support,

I installed perfsonar-toolkit on a RHEL 6.7 box following the installation documentation:

I haven’t installed perfSONAR Central Management yet. (Is this required for the time being?)

There are several things puzzled me:

  1. I don't find /etc/bwctld, instead, I have /etc/bwctl-server
  2. In section "start your services”,
           I don’t find /etc/init.d/bwctld, instead, I have /etc/init.d/bwctl-server
           I don’t find /etc/init.d/owampd, instead, I have /etc/init.d/owamp-server
           I don’t find /etc/init.d/ls_registration_daemon

After I access the web interface, it looks like the following image.  Please kindly advise me if there is anything I missed …

Thanks!
