Hi Winnie,

You are correct, the web100 kernel we announced would be coming is now in our repos. I’ll be sending the formal announcement right after this, we were just waiting for it to hit our mirrors.

Also, It looks like you are correct that another kernel will be incoming shortly but CentOS has not yet put it in their repos. When they do, we’ll send out our usual announcement and do another build. The page you reference is direct from RedHat. It usually takes CentOS a couple extra days to get it in their repos because they have some rebuilding and testing of their own to do. Based on past experience, I suspect in the next couple days (possibly later today) they will upload it and announce its availability. Thanks for the heads-up though!

Thanks,
Andy

It appears to be ready:

kernel i686 2.6.32-573.26.1.el6.web100 Internet2-web100_kernel 28 M
kernel-devel i686 2.6.32-573.26.1.el6.web100 Internet2-web100_kernel 10 M

However on 10 May RedHet released another kernel CVE:

https://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2016-0855.html

with a new kernel:

kernel-2.6.32-642.el6.x86_64.rpm

Presumably the Perfsonar experts are similarly building & testing a new
2.6.32-642 web100 kernel & will notify us when ready?

(Not having updated to the 2.6.32-573.26.1 kernel yet, figure may as well
wait another few days for the 2.6.32-642 one.....)
