perfSONAR User Q&A and Other Discussion

Hi All:

ESnet has deployed what we believe is the first public 40Gbps production perfSONAR host directly connected to an R&E backbone network. The host is located in Boston, MA, and called bost-pt2.es.net/bost-pt2-v6.es.net. 

If you have a 40G perfSONAR host on a R&E network, you can try running throughput tests to this host using this command:

   bwctl -c bost-pt2.es.net -T iperf3 -w 400M

Note that you should confirm that your path to this host has no 10G bottlenecks by running traceroute first.
