Thanks for the answer! A quick reboot this morning after reverse DNS properly propagated and all is well.

Chris

Hey Chris,

It’s run each time, unfortunately. The way to ‘fix’ that is to edit /opt/perfsonar_ps/toolkit/web/root/gui/services/etc/web_admin.conf and add “disable_ipv4_reverse_lookup 1”. That will stop doing the reverse lookups.

Cheers,
Aaron

Hello

I set up the NetInstall version of PS toolkit this evening on a new box in prep for the workshop in Ohio on Wed -- but my configured reverse DNS info did not propagate in time so the current web interface is showing links that reference the reverse DNS lookup that the ISP provided which do not actually resolve in the forward direction.

End result is broken unresolvable hostname links on the toolkit web interface.

Not sure if the hostname detection is run once during install and not checked again but changing the hostname manually, putting it into /etc/hosts all have no effect - the server reboots with the old / unresolvable hostname or "primary address" derived during the original install.

Is there a way to override the hostname or "primary address" post install that is used in the web UI? Or perhaps a script that will re-run the initial config using the new hostname and reverse DNS lookup answers?

Regards,
Chris
