Which version of OSX?
It is Yosemite - but I didn't have any problem building the code.

Note also that the problem I'm reporting is with bwctl/bwctld (linked to libiperf), not with iperf3 at the command line.

If I use iperf3 -s at one side, and iperf3 -c x.x.x.x [-R] at the other, I see no problem. And if I add --verbose --get-server-output, the two values agree. e.g.

Test Complete. Summary Results:
[ ID] Interval Transfer Bandwidth Retr
[ 6] 0.00-10.00 sec 1.08 GBytes 929 Mbits/sec 80 sender
[ 6] 0.00-10.00 sec 1.08 GBytes 929 Mbits/sec receiver
CPU Utilization: local/receiver 15.1% (1.4%u/13.8%s), remote/sender 0.8% (0.0%u/0.9%s)

However, having restarted the bwctld daemon on OSX, I'm not able to reproduce the original problem. Instead, in one direction I get no results at all (which is a problem I was seeing between a pair of perfsonar servers in the lab previously)

[example@cov-perf-1
~]$ bwctl -s cov-client-1 -T iperf3
bwctl: Using tool: iperf3
bwctl: 16 seconds until test results available

SENDER START

SENDER END
[example@cov-perf-1
~]$

Regards,

Brian.
