On a fresh OSX Yosemite machine I installed Java from java.com (which gave me Java 8 upd 25), and I found that the NDT tests hang at "Initialization". This appears to be a known problem:

Is there any work underway to fix this? (Reason I ask: it's probably unrealistic to get end-users to downgrade their Java, but if there's an NDT update in the works then I can get them to wait)
