Hi Andy,

I’ve changed the /etc/hosts a couple of times, no results:

this way:

127.0.0.1   localhost localhost.localdomain localhost4 localhost4.localdomain4
::1         localhost localhost.localdomain localhost6 localhost6.localdomain6

this way:

127.0.0.1   localhost localhost.localdomain localhost4 localhost4.localdomain4
190.103.184.153 perfsonar.ampath.net
::1         localhost localhost.localdomain localhost6 localhost6.localdomain6

this way:

127.0.0.1   localhost localhost.localdomain localhost4 localhost4.localdomain4
190.103.184.153 perfsonar.ampath.net
::1         localhost localhost.localdomain localhost6 localhost6.localdomain6
2001:468:700:4001:92e2:baff:fe2b:cba9 perfsonar.ampath.net

The name perfsonar.ampath.net points to 190.103.184.153 and the reverse DNS is also working fine.

[root@perfsonar ~]# nslookup
> set type=any
Server: 198.32.252.58
Address: 198.32.252.58#53

Address: 190.103.184.153
perfsonar.ampath.net has AAAA address 2001:468:700:4001:92e2:baff:fe2b:cba9

> 190.103.184.153
Server: 198.32.252.58
Address: 198.32.252.58#53

153.184.103.190.in-addr.arpa name = perfsonar.ampath.net.

I even reloaded all process. Anything else?

Thanks,
Jeronimo

Hi,

Likely the new /etc/hosts entry caused the issue. If I recall correctly, the message gets displayed if the address it finds for the host (in this case perfsonar.ampath.net) yields a different result in DNS versus a call to getaddrinfo() which may also hit /etc/hosts. I am not sure if the /etc/hosts entry you added will affect this, but it looks like the script thinks it does. You could back up the /etc/hosts file and try clicking the link in the error message to repair it. If the error goes away you at least know the cause and we can try to figure out what it doesn't like about the new entry.

Thanks,
Andy

Hello all,

we are facing this problem in our perfsonar installation, since last week, and I need your help to fix it. I recreated the /etc/hosts, rebooted the server, nothing has changed. I don’t know what caused the problem since we don’t keep changing the configuration in our server. I don’t know if that happened after we fix the SSL problem, or it was caused because we created an entry in the /etc/hosts.

What kind of information could I provide to help you guys to help me?

Thanks
