CACTISonar Pre-Release Alfa (0.2)

CACTISonar is intended to facilitate the usage of perfSONAR  
infrastructure. Using a friendly user interface, it enables network  
administrators to manage all tests that are scheduled to run among a  
group of MPs. It also permits administrator to have an historical view  
of tests on end-to-end paths that it is willing to measure  
performance. It aggregates data turning it compreensive to analyse  
network tendencies. One nice feature it to enable administrator to use  
data collected to create new kinds of graphs that may be useful for a  
such specific case or to do correlations among different sources.  
Besides it, CACTI permits network administrator to measure metrics,  
such as Interface Traffic, Errors, Discards, Packets, among others. As  
CACTI already measure a lot of metrics from the network, CACTISonar  
implements a perfSONAR MA-RRD to expose the data collected according  
to network administrator configurations.

The main functionalities on this alfa pre-release version are:

* Registration and management of perfSONAR Services;
* Creation of groups of services based on users criteria;
* Definition of test models that may be applied to pairs of MPs;
* Full control of matrices to run tests;
* Configuration of data sharing through perfSONAR MA implemented to CACTI;
* Data template mapping to perfSONAR Event Type;
* Insertion of new perfSONAR Service Types, Tools, Event Types and  
Authentication Realms, and
* perfSONAR MA Service for CACTISonar, which answers the following  
messages for Interface Utilization and OWAMP, Ping and BWCTL (TCP/UDP)  
Tests: EchoRequest, MetadataKeyRequest and SetupDataRequest (using or  
not a key on the request)

A reasonable reason to create a plugin to CACTI environment is that  
this environment is focused on network manament. CACTI was created to  
be a full and intuitive interface to manage networks storing  
information managed in RRDTool type files. For default, it is ready to  
measure interface counters information, such as interface in/out  
traffic measured using bits or/and packets, errors, discards and other  
SNMP enabled variables. It also permits managing networks through  
scripts, such as other hardware information. One feature that  
motivated the creation of this plugin is its useful Plugin  
Architecture to create plugins, that permits the creation of new  
pollers and new screens based on a standard components and functions.
