Hi Loukik,
I installed the latest snapshot version of the MA and it worked properly.
Now I installed the v1 with the perl installer but I have some problems.
I found in the wiki:
" Note the LS and the MA cannot share a tomcat installation."
What does it mean?
That I need 2 tomcat running or 2 tomcat instances?
In both cases could you give me some suggestions on how to do it?
Which is the differences between the snapshot version an the other one?
Which version have you installed?
Hi Giovanni,
Now, you can't install two perfSONAR instances on one Tomcat. The problem is configuration properties files -- different for various instances. Now, these files cannot be shared. There are a couple solutions of that problem, but they need some changes in perfSONAR.
So, for now, if you want to run multiple perfSONAR instances you have to install two Tomcat+Axis instances as well. But remember, that both Tomcats must work on different ports, for instance 8080 (the default one) and 8090. Database for LS and MA may be shared (if using eXist DB for MA, because for LS it's compulsory)
For suggestions how to do it, please contact Szymon (), because he did it for PIONIER MA and LS.
As far as I remember he wrote a wiki page about it, but I may be wrong.
The perfSONAR v.1.0 is our first release. Since it was released many changes have been done (some very important). You probably know that we work with SVN and all changes are commited on SVN server. When a developer wants to publish his work he does the "snapshot" of SVN repository. As snapshots are done by developers separately, so they may differ from each other. Although the snapshot for LS may contain java sources for all services, only LS classes are compiled and also configuration scripts for other services may be removed.
So, the snapshots are addressed for users who want to deploy the newest version of a service regarded by its developer as quite stable.
Since the last (and the first) release (v.1.0) there have been several changes, such as result codes, HTTP access for eXist database, new Message Handler, LSCleanup bugs were fixed, etc., etc.
So I'd suggest to use snapshot version for testing, especially for LS. I think we're very close to start the second release process.
Best regards
Maciej
