Many thanks for this hint. Perhaps a suitable workaround could be to run
ldconfig after a suitable edit of /etc/ld.so.conf (add a line with
<path-to-perfSONAR>/contrib/rrdjtool/build), as Szymon suggested in another
mail a few days ago.
