Yes, I had a look at the LS client code and I can see that. Do you or
anybody knows if it's also the case in the LS perl library?

That's probably what is needed anyway, at least during a transition phase,
because I think we'll have be able to support any xquery for backward
compatibility. And not all piece of software interacting with the LS is
using the java LS client library.
