Hi all,
as you know, the time synchronization of the user's clock running the perfSONAR ui with an NTP server is really important, since the authentication information contains timestamp information. The solution is quite simple: user's machines should use an NTP server. But, in most of the cases, it's a point against the usability and mobility.
So, I've been thinking that it could be a good idea that perfSONAR ui, when it's launched, checks the difference between the clock of user's machine and an NTP server. So, when the authN information is generated by the visualization tool, it can update the timestamp with the obtained difference.
I've found some classes very useful at http://support.ntp.org/bin/view/Support/JavaSntpClient
Also, it could be a good idea that when the AS send the register query to a LS, it can include information about which NTP the AS is using, so perfSONAR ui can use the same one.
So, what do you think about this?

Regards
