I'll throw in my two cents on the topic. I wrote up some ideas on 
protocol modifications that could be used to describe these 
relationships. It also makes it easy to describe the transformations 
performed by either an MA or a transformation service. The output is a 
bit verbose, but the resulting message is unambiguous.
