perfsonar development work

Dear developers/testers,

We had a strange problem today with mdm-4.par.fr.geant2.net - files 
couldn't be downloaded from downloads.perfsonar.eu site. After spending 
sometime on looking at firewalls, etc, we noticed that the netmask 
parameter from the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts was removed. Fixing it 
resolved the problem.

Since many of us have root access, we are unable to find out who made 
this change and why this change was needed (if one of you did it, let me 
know if there is something you wish to change).

Its important that we keep this server up and running and I am afraid 
DANTE will not be able to provide much effort into fixing problems that 
shouldn't happen in the first place. Hence, I request you all to be 
responsible and only do the needful (build, install, test, uninstall 
your packages). If you need to do anything special, let us know.
