Hi Nicolas,

regarding the plans for Perfsonar 3.0, we have the following comments:

E2Emon MP

* LS registration support - it is in our TODO list
* Echo request support - this too
* Using authentication (?) - our colleagues from Erlagen are working
on a PERL module for AA that we are planning to use
* Using URL-based result codes - should be quite easy to adapt as
soon as a specification is fixed
* Using new SVN structure - requires a re-write of ANT - we can use
the perfSONAR SVN (at least for the release candidates), but be
are not using ANT at all * Improve installation - is there a specification for the improved
installation?
o ANT or RPMs (tbd)
o Admin pages
* Documentation: functional specification, Installation action
specification, interface specification (19/10), metadata
configuration, sample configuration. - that means an update of the
already existing documents?
* Automatic push of data to the SQL MA via XML interface, as soon as
a status change - as by now, there is no push mechanism defined in
perfSONAR at all; this feature seems quite ambitious

E2Emon Visualisation

* using the mLS - is there any implementation expected which can be
used in Perfsonar 3.0?
* changes due to web-service errors codes changes (?) - same comment
as for E2Emon MP

Is there already a timeframe for the Perfsonar 3.0 release?

Cheers,

M&M

Hi,

as you know, we are organising soon a new release.
A draft list of the services and features is provided. Please have a look at it for information (features and time schedule).
Comments more than welcome.

Please note that we will organise a phone call next week to start scheduling the work.

Best regards,
