Not really (psUI has a single parent JFrame), tabs are created on
application start by adding each tab main component in JTabbedPane.

Thus, in your  IPerfsonarTab  implement     public PluginMainPanel
createMainComponent(Component parentComponent)  to return your main
JComponent, that will correspond to your current JFrame and will be
added as a new tab.

Look for example in  org.perfsonar.perfsonarui.demo  folder for the demo
plugin. 
Or you could send me your latest code and I'll try to make a quick start.

Yes (plugins are expected to be found in ext subfolder).

If you use the source at SVN  and update build file to include lg plugin
it will be copied to dist/perfsonar v.XX/bin/ext folder and you could
start psUI from  dist/perfsonar v.XX/bin/  folder.
