Specifically, this is causing our SNMP service some compatibility problems with 
pS-UI because it does not look through the entire chain of metadata. It assumes 
it can use the first one. (In fact, I don't think it even expects a chain at all.)

We plan on bringing this up with Nina in the long-term, but in the short term we 
have been trying to figure out how to support both methods.
