Hi,

I would like to have a conf call next Tuesday (24/07) at 16:00 CEST to make the point about the Authentication service and its utilisation by the first web-service and visualisation tool.

So the the AS has been implemented. One java class for the perfsonar services has been implemented and one java class for automatic client has been implemented.

The goal is to go over the action planned strawman and fix dates for the different actions. This would be followed by a weekly status update conf call.

The next steps are the following (strawman proposal) for the end of August - early September :

1. Deploy the Authentication Service - Candido
1.1. Make it work with Edugain - Candido
1.2. Have a tool which host credentials - Maurizio (GIdP)
1.3. Test inter-action with eduGAIN and GIdP - Candido

2. Verify that the Authentication java class for perfsonar web-services is part of pS base and is done properly - Roman
2.1. Documentation and wiki FAQ on how to plug the Auth class into its service - Candido
2.2. Take the pS base and integrate it in a branch of the SSH/Telnet - Stijn
2.3. Test inter-action with the Authentication service (need 1.3) - Stijn
2.4. Report on experience to the group - Stijn

3. Visualisation tool
3.1. Integration of the Automated client java class within CNM. Issue, the collection mechanism for CNM are in pert thus the java class will not work.
Either we can have the class for a user behind a client (pSUI or looking glass) or we translate the automatic client class from java to perl.
3.2. test of the visualisation with the SSH/Telnet MP (need 2.3)
3.2. Documentation on how to use the java/perl class for another visualisation (+ add wiki FAQ)

4. Based on the experience of 2, the RRD MA, SQL MA (and LS?) implement and the Auth module.

What do you mean 'implement Auth module'? In Cambridge we agreed Candido will prepare the implementation of AuthN component, based on auxiliary component interface, generic for all pS java services.

Roman

4.1. Implementation of the Authentication module in perl for the perl web-services (October)

5. Implementation of the Authentication in psUI, CNM.

Best regards,
