Due to a scheduled power outage later this week, all of our servers will be down 
Thursday.

It is likely that they will be down for most of Europe's Thursday workday. We 
will be taking the SVN and bugzilla servers down earlier in the evening before 
the power outage.

These systems are not one of the critical ones, so they will be brought up later 
in the morning Thursday, so please don't plan on using them until very late in 
your day. (Better yet, just plan on them being down all Thursday.)

Hi all,

As part of commissioning the new data center here in the MITC building
in Ann Arbor, Internet2 will suffer a full-building power outage from
2:00am-6:00am EST Thursday, 2/22. All Ann Arbor-based Internet2 servers
will be unavailable, and the Internet2 offices will lose all power.

The electricians estimate that their work should take until about 3:30
or 4:00, but have scheduled until 6:00am should trouble arise.

During the outage, the InCommon WAYF and Internet2 web site will be
failed over to their off-site backups.


In addition, TSG will take this opportunity to do various maintenance.

1) the core network switch will be rebooted at around 11:00pm EST
Weds 2/21, to install updated software. This will interrupt all netwok
connectivity to Internet2's portion of the building and MDF. This
should last about 15 minutes.

2) Various servers will be down at various times starting at 10:00pm EST.

Staff don't need to worry about equipment in the office, but you should
probably put your laptops to sleep before you leave if you don't normally,
so you don't end up with a dead battery in the morning.
