I have added some documentation to the wiki to help explain what the 'value' of the eventType element should be. (Currently, everyone is using ad-hoc names such as 'utilization' and 'select' etc..)

I also tried to explain the format of a message a little more clearly. This page existed before, but did not have very much content. Hopefully no one minds that I added to it.
The non-namespaced eventType values should eventually be migrated.
The migration should take the normal route: Be forgiving in what you accept, and strict in what you send.
In other words, services should accept both old and new names for a while in requests. (And respond with which ever version they are sent.) Once services do this, clients should be modified to only send the new names. Eventually, the old names can be removed from services.
