It took me ~25 mins to install with mostly default values. I will be writing today or early tomorrow a short report as I see a few point where things can be possibly improved in terms of communication with a user.

Here it goes:

OS: FreeBSD
Prerequisites installed: ant, rrdtool, java-jdk5.0
I accepted most of the defaults apart from path to rrdtool. I accepted
installation of eXist and Tomcat. No LS registration.
Below are some comments which may improve user-script communication and some minor others which I send to Roman directly.

1)pre-install
- Seems that when I entered "Enter the path where you want to install
the service [/perfSONAR-RRD-MA-1.1-RC3/webapps]" another directory it's
not taken into account in the following questions. When asked "Enter the
path for the Tomcat installation:" and others the script suggested the
directory where RC3 was extracted. I think it should always suggest
directories under installation directory.
- What happens if default Tomcat source is not reachable? Wouldn't it be
better download it without asking a user "Enter a URL of the Tomcat
download" (so skipping one question) and ask a user to provide alternate
location only when the default server is unavailable.

2)deploy
- When asked "Please, make sure that the Tomcat is running. Use the
address http://localhost:8080"; may confuse somebody as I used to test
http://name_of_my_server:8080

3)test
I would like to see test saying "success" or "failure" instead of a list
of files flowing through my screen :)

I would also suggest some pre-installation checklist (included in the installation guidelines on Wiki) which could speed up the
installation:

Pre-installation checklist

Before installing and configuring RRD MA Service, use this checklist to ensure that you have completed all necessary preparations:

[ ] Determine the type of your operating system.
[ ] Make sure that you have Apache Ant installed in your system.
[ ] Make sure that you have Java platform installed in your system.
[ ] Make sure that you have RRDtool installed in your system.
[ ] Check out the location of header file of RRDtool (rrd.h file) and have the information available during installation.
[ ] Check out the location of library files of RRDtool (librrd*) and have the information available during installation.
[ ] Check out Java home location (not the directory where the executable is present) and have the information available during installation.
[ ] Decide whether Lookup Service registration will be used for your deployment.
[ ] Choose whether you will use the default eXist database (suggested) to store metadata configuration file or no database at all.
[ ] If you will be installing Tomcat application server and/or eXist database make sure the LAN connection is available and ready. It will be used for downloading sources.
