perfsonar development work

Hi,

today, 1st of September, we are entering the third year of the GN2-JRA1 
project.

What are JRA1 objectives for Year3 (September 2006-August 2007):
- The perfSONAR web-services we are working on will be the basis for a 
Multi-Domain Monitoring Service trial by the end of Year3
- This implies that we have to define the rules for operating a 
multi-domain monitoring service and to provide support for such service.
- This also implies that the web-services we are developing should be of 
good quality and easy to install if we want this to be a success.
- We have to master the amount of information made available by the 
monitoring tools (MCF).
- We have to include L2 monitoring.
- We have to improve the visualisation.
- We have to integrate AA within the services.


Organisationwide, I would like to notify you of few  changes.
- Three work-item leader will closely coordinate the development within 
JRA1. The work-items are logically divided between:
. Service (AA, LS, TopS, MA, generic, schema, etc) - Szymon Trocha (PSNC)
. Tools Integration within perfSONAR web-services (Hades, BWCTL, 
SSH/Telnet, TCMP, netflow, etc) - Stephan Kraft (DFN)
. Visualisation (CNM, perfsonarUI, visualperfsonar, NEMO, etc) - Andreas 
Hanemann (DFN)

Please contact them for any questions, point to be discussed over those 
topics


- To support the transition to service, a work-item has been set-up. It 
will be lead by Loukik Kudarimoti. The support and service will be 
defined over Y3.
Please contact Loukik for any points relevant to: software support, 
functional testing, release management, dissemination and the workshops
