I've been asked the same thing...

I think it is relative to the number of interfaces you want to host in the RRD 
MA. And relative to the number of entries in the LS database for the LS. As well 
as relative to the frequency of queries you want to be able to handle for both.

So, I think the best way to address this question is perhaps by benchmarking a 
particular configuration and saying: This configuration performs well for X 
number of entries/queries. Unfortunately, I don't have that data...
