Hi,

From the logs on perfSONAR, I noticed that clients such as CNM are 
requesting the measurement archive every five minutes for data about all 
links. Such clients which need to update themselves every 5 minutes are 
the ideal clients which should use the "key" mechanism.

We designed and implemented this feature to be used by such clients. It 
benefits not only the service but the client as well because the 
response will be quicker (no query to the rrd database). If you are 
worried about the expiry of the keys, you can  update the keys that you 
store regularly (say once in a day by doing metadata key request).

As of now, from the logs I notice that this feature is not being used. I 
would be very happy to see the clients making use of such performance 
features provided by the service, at least the CNM.
