To all --  Please forward as appropriate.  Registration is now open for the following workshop.   For details, see:  http://events.internet2.edu/2009/nws/

What:     Performance and Master Class Production Workshop
When:   12-14 January 2009
Where:  New World Symphony, Miami Beach, FL

Internet2 and the New World Symphony are hosting a hands-on audio/video production workshop 12-14 January 2009  on the campus of the New World Symphony in Miami Beach, FL. The workshop will include demonstrations, real-time experience connecting with remote sites over Internet2 advanced networks, setting up incoming and outgoing audio, creating a multi-camera shoot, placing lights and projectors and operating codecs. We will explore in depth the elements needed to do everything from simple one-on-one interactions to larger scale stage productions, and will give participants an opportunity to gain hands-on experience with codecs and network testing tools.

This year, we have the honor of being joined by New World Symphony President and CEO, Howard Herring, and Internet2 President and CEO, Doug Van Houweling, who will explore the administrative implications and opportunities advanced networking provides in support of teaching and curriculum development. The workshop is designed for an audience of technologists, administrators, deans, and CIOs.

Note:  There is a concert on Sunday, January 11th at 3:00 pm which features Internet2 components.   The concert features Berlioz, Dutilleux (with comments from the composer in Paris), and Debussy.  If you would like to attend please let us know so we can hold tickets for you.
