  1. Agenda Bash
  1. No agenda bashing occurred.
Update on peering and I2PX
  1. Have not yet moved I2PX peers out of R&E table.  Conversation with big peers shifted to capacity augments instead – Amazon: focusing on getting rid of 10G PNIs and moving to 100G or possibly 400G in 1 or 2 locations.
  2. Dropbox: This week should be establishing peerings with Dropbox in major metros.  This will allow for eventual depref’ing of R&E peers.  Dropbox agreed to temporarily move traffic to public peerings.  Since I2PX is transit-free, future peers can’t see I2PX ASN in table so have no idea how much traffic will likely flow.
  3. Amazon is expecting lots of Thursday night football traffic.
Network Weather Update – Trends and Coming Events
  1. Northern Lights has finished reconfiguring and is ready for upcoming changes.
  2. Netflix just sent another Cache to one site – seems to be focused on NFL.
  3. Jeff noted that Netflix is citing NFL in capacity augments.  Discussion: Google says NFL games coming to Netflix in December!
Internet2 Network Updates
  1. Optical: pushing progress on getting links between exchanges- predicated on converting to coherent optics between Ciscos.  In higher degree sites, will be splitting to multiple optical chassis.  JoAnne, Adair, and Jeff will be at NANOG next week.  Discussion of optical chassis design.
  2. 165 Halsey, Newark: plan to replace current POP at 111 8th – Google is not renewing leases there.  Many others also moving there – space and power is plentiful and no MRC for x-connects.  Current delay is on DC power supplies for routers.
  3. Steve Wallace: More ROAs please!  GEANT will soon be (or is?) filtering.  This means that return traffic from European R&E will be over commodity paths for ASNs without a ROA.  Ahem.
Campus border route policy best practices
  1. No updates.
Peering & Routing SIG meeting at TechX – topics?
  1. Looking for agenda items.  Campus border routing best practices is one possible topic.
Any other business?
  1. No other business.
