Cross-posting to Security and Peering WGs. A while back we had a conversation on the Security WG list around supporting the proposed BLACKHOLE (65535:666) well known community to signal blackholing of traffic; back then it was a draft and it’s now
an RFC: https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc7999 Internet2 is planning to enable support for this community over the next couple of weeks; we will maintain the old communities for blackholing traffic. Documentation will be updated: https://noc.net.internet2.edu/i2network/maps-documentation/documentation/bgp-communities.html We welcome comments, questions, suggestions. Cheers, Karl -- Karl Newell Cyberinfrastructure Security Engineer Internet2 520-344-0459 |
