I neglected to tell you and the others at NPAPW that there is yet another way to watch the NWS Side-by-Side for those who will not be here in person; it is going to be streamed. Details follow.

The annual Side-by-Side, or as I call it, orchestra on steroids, combines top public school students with NWS fellows for a larger than usual orchestra with a sound to match. It's Saturday, April 28 at 8:00 p.m. (U. S. eastern daylight savings time.) This is one of the best programs of the year and one of my favorites. You may watch it live by clicking on the link below that says, "Click here to watch this event live on MUSAIC." It's also going to be Wallcast for those still in town.

The Side-by-Side Concert is an extraordinary opportunity for young instrumentalists (grades 7-12) to perform alongside the New World Symphony Fellows. The students share the New World Center’s stage and develop musical relationships with the Fellows as they rehearse and perform music of the highest caliber. The 47 students have been selected through audition from 22 different schools and organizations, including three students from São Paolo, Brazil and five from Medellín, Colombia. 

A limited number of tickets will be available in order to accommodate the students, their families and support networks. Contact the Box Office at 305.673.3331 for more information.
