You are cordially invited to a webinar on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at 2:30-3:30 ET to hear about the Next Generation Infrastructure (NGI) implementation progress. We will discuss the progress with shim and the upcoming BGP session, OESS, Internet2 Cloud Connect and RPI service migrations. We will also discuss the automation being used in the configuration of NGI. 

For the IP service migrations that involve a BGP peering with the R&E or I2PX service, we plan to pre-stage and verify the configuration on the Cisco routers to ensure that the translation scripts work appropriately. During a scheduled maintenance window, we will take an operational snapshot of each session, gradually shed traffic from that session, bring the session up on the Cisco router, then take another operational snapshot to compare the before and after state, With this migration methodology, end users shouldn’t see any interruption in their traffic as packets in flight will seamlessly move to backup paths until the new sessions are brought up on the Cisco routers. The OESS, Cloud Connect and RPI service migrations will be completed separately.
