For those of you who don't receive MANRS emails....
A call for participation for a MANRS compliance auditing tool
Coding experience helpful, but I think the project is in a stage where brainstorming is also very useful.

Hi,

A few months ago, Rich Compton proposed creating an open source tool to audit router BGP configurations for MANRS compliance (see “Router audit tool for checking MANRS compliance?” thread).

Off-list, Rich has put together some ideas of requirements and possible compliance tests, and I’ve volunteered to coordinate some discussion around a possible project here.

I appreciate that people on this list probably don’t, themselves, have coding resources to commit to a project, but I think it’s worth a discussion to help shake out requirements and possible targets, as well as discuss miscellaneous existing tools that might be put into service.

To that end — I’d like to invite any interested parties (coders or no!) to a conference call to discuss this further — see agenda below.

The call is set for:

July 17, 2019, at 15h00 UTC (11am EDT / 9am MDT / 5pm CET)
Zoom/dial-in information to be shared later.

Please let me know if you will plan to attend. If you are interested, but unable to attend at that time, please also let me know — I appreciate that scheduling is always a challenge, and there may have to be another call later.

Draft agenda:

0/ Agenda bash

1/ Rich’s requirements and proposals to date

3/ High level view of what work needs to be done here

4/ Next steps (as applicable).

Best regards,
Leslie.
